InterLinkSQ intermodal hub supports MEGATRANS2018
Intermodal terminal and industrial precinct InterLinkSQ has confirmed its attendance for the 2018 trade show, MEGATRANS2018.
InterLinkSQ is a new intermodal and industrial precinct currently under construction in Toowoomba, 170km to the west of Brisbane, that will offer a Toowoomba-to-Port shuttle via rail by June 2018, and link with the Inland Rail in 2024.
InterLinkSQ is strategically located at the junction of three major highways – Gore, Warrego and New England, by the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing, and eight kilometres from Toowoomba’s new domestic and international airport.
Crucially, the 200-hectare development sits along both the new Inland Rail route and the established Queensland regional rail network, including the West Moreton line, which connects directly to the Port of Brisbane.
InterLinkSQ has been designed to ensure that Toowoomba and surrounding regions can capitalise on the proposed Inland Rail project connecting Melbourne to Brisbane. The precinct promises new transport options for local producers and improved supply-chain efficiencies.
InterLinkSQ has two components. The first is the InterLink industrial Park, a master-planned logistics, warehousing and industrial estate that will provide opportunities for forward looking companies to co-locate in a thriving logistics hub and the Interlink Global Logistics Centre, an open access, intermodal terminal linking rail, road, sea and air predicted to move 750,000 IMEX TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) per year upon completion.
“With Inland Rail under development, trade agreements boosting exports and port congestion, intermodal terminals will only become more crucial to the Australian supply chain,” said MEGATRANS2018 Show Director Simon Coburn.
“InterLinkSQ’s industrial park and intermodal terminal show forward vision on a large scale, and we’re excited to have them on board.
